Immersive Technology — Not Confined to a Lab!

As the world becomes increasingly reliant on instant communication and personal technology, it's important that young scholars learn to safely navigate and collaborate using these great tools

With campus-wide WiFi and Chromebooks in the hands of each middle and high school student, learning can take place anywhere, at any time. Elementary students enjoy access to individual Chromebook labs.

+ Smart classrooms equipped with WiFi, Smart TV displays, projector cameras and more to enrich teaching

+ Carefully monitored, safe access to the internet

You won’t see a technology lab on our campus — our students are immersed and employ a wide range of digital tools daily. When technology is at our students’ fingertips, creativity unfolds naturally. The devices they need to make their ideas come to life are right at hand.

Our students collaborate and bring their ideas to life across the campus, daily! We’re amazed with some of the things they dream up.

+ A high school student uses a midday break to perfect her graphic design portfolio and practice hand illustrating from a hammock near the high school classrooms

+ Photography students take their passions beyond the classroom to capturing campus events. DSLR cameras and editing tools are available anytime to our young photographers!

+ An avid guitar player uses concepts from his guitar and music production classes to record at home. He takes home an audio interface to capture his newest composition and work late in the evening - perfecting his newfound passion

+ Two students collaborate and bring a imaginative concept into the palm of their hands on our 3-D printer

MEDIA & TECH TEAMS

From a rich offering of digital and technology-rich electives to Media team & Tech team, our students have plenty of hands-on opportunities to develop their interests in coding, video, photography, music production, lighting production and sound engineering. WEB-BASED COLLABORATIVE TOOLS

Our middle and high school students are using technology daily to discover, collaborate, and learn. We employ web-based collaborative tools that are used by businesses across the globe - not outdated teaching platforms that don’t translate to real world use.

Our students are fluent in modern, web-based tools like Google’s suite of business and collaborative tools, online graphic design platforms and more.

Service + Work Study

Service + Work Study

Students learn to love and care for their campus and one another... It doesn't get better than this!

At HDA, a large part of our 4 stream approach to education emphasizes service: specifically, servant leadership.

Starting in kindergarten, students are taught to care for their classrooms and campus. Elementary and middle school students take part in campus-wide service based projects. As they take ownership of their campus and education, an extraordinary thing happens: character is developed and servant leaders emerge.

+ K-12 on-campus service projects teach students to take ownership of their campus and care for one another

+ High school on-campus work study program with paid job opportunities in an array of fields

Beginning in high school, students are able to apply for positions in the work study program while earning fair wages for their work through our Work+Study@Hampden.

Students are taught an array of valuable skills, essential to building their resume for college and beyond.

What’s required of students interested in paid positions in our on-campus work study program?

A heart to serve and a willingness to work hard.

What areas of interest can I pursue through Work+Study@Hampden?

  • Information Technology

  • Media/Marketing and Promotion

  • A/E/C (design/construction/facilities)

  • Educational Services (Teach Assist, Aftercare, ExtraCurricular Support)

Before & After Care

Led by responsible caretakers who engage students to play in the great outdoors & provide the opportunity for quiet time to study.

Before and after school, our campus is alive with laughter, play, and even quiet places to study in the great outdoors (& indoors too!).

We pride ourselves on a safe, loving campus community. Our students experience these core values before and after school as well as in their daily studies. Our teachers and staff are present on campus to engage with their students, offer a listening ear, or get out and play together!

Under the leadership of the after care supervisor, our high school work study students are trained and responsible caretakers who engage students in play around the campus. They also provide a structure for students to find quiet study time as needed.

+ Before Care Hours: 7:00am - 7:55am

+ After Care Hours: 3:15pm - 6:00pm

+ Fridays: 12:30pm - 6:00pm
